Youth Initiatives

HADC dedicates staff and resources to promote youth achievement. Annually, HADC hosts an awards program that highlights the success and accomplishment of youth between the ages of five through 21 years. HADC recognizes those students that exemplify excellence in school, community service, athletics, art and public speaking. HADC continues to provide programs and activities that keep youth engaged, informed and motivated to achieve positive things.

The Teens In Action Program is a youth leadership program offered on a weekly basis to youth 13 through 19 years of age. This program promotes youth leadership, team work, community involvement, personal accountability and socialization skills. Participating youth are responsible for identifying programs and projects of interest to deliver, implement or attend. Officers are elected on an annual basis to serve as youth leaders.

Scout Programs are offered on a weekly basis in collaboration with the National Boy and Girl Scout Organizations. This program is open to any HADC resident interested in enrollment. Active parent and youth participation is required. Training is provided on a regular basis to prepare the scouts to receive honor badges for personal achievement.

Youth Achievement Awards are presented on an annual basis to youth within the community who actively participate in HADC programs and events. The youth are recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in and out of school activities. Parents, family, friends, community stakeholders and school representatives are cordially invited to celebrate these youth's achievements.
