How do I apply for HADC's Assisted/Public Housing Program?
Public Housing is available on a sliding income-based need. Priority placement is given for elderly and disabled persons. To qualify for public housing, an application must be submitted by the individual requesting assistance. The waiting list is currently closed, however, when open, applications can be obtained at the each individual public housing site and are accepted between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Applications for Tobie Grant Manor Apartments (in central DeKalb County) are available at the Management Office at 3218 Tobie Circle, and are accepted between 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Tobie Grant Manor is located off North Decatur Road in Scottdale, Georgia. For additional information call 404-292-2400.
Applications for Johnson Ferry East Apartments (in north DeKalb County) can be obtained at the Management Office at 2248 Johnson Ferry Road. Applications are accepted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Johnson Ferry East Apartments is located on Johnson Ferry Road, just north of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and the City of Chamblee. For more information call 770-458-6064.
All units are assigned based upon the size of the family. Each application is reviewed for initial eligibility and to determine its priority level and then assigned by computer to its place on the Waiting List.
How do I check my status on the Waiting List?
If you are already on the Waiting List for Tobie Grant Manor or Johnson Ferry East, you can check your status by calling 404-378-0842 (24/7). The Waiting List is updated weekly. If your address changes or if you have changes in your family size, source of income, or other factors, it is important that you provide that information in writing to the Housing Authorityıs Central Office, 750 Commerce Drive, Suite 200, Decatur, Georgia 30030, so that your application can be updated.
Due to the size of the waiting list and the volume of phone calls, the Authority can not respond immediately to all phone calls. If you have a question you must ask, call 404-270-2627. Please leave a detailed message with your question and a staff person will call you as soon as possible.
